INFORMATION AND ACCESS GOVERNANCE IMPLEMENTATION PROJECT

The Background

The VG IAG project was a 2-year project where Mobius assisted in the IAG implementation of the Sailpoint IdenityNow solution. Although the project started off slow and was a bit of a difficult one, having a positive team to work with, as well as support from the Information Security Manager, helped.

The Mobius approach to the Identity and Access Governance (IAG) implementation used had the following phases:

Design and Build
Implementation and remediation

1. Set the direction
This part of the phase involved the development of a detailed IAG implementation and roll-out plan. The roll-out plan highlighted timelines, responsibilities, dependencies, defining IAG success metrics/KPI’s as well as the prioritization of VG applications.

2. Design and Build
This part of the phase involved defining key enablers needed for successful implementation (Governance, People, Process) as well assist VG with the implementation of the Sailpoint IdentityNow IAG technology tool. We also assisted and prepared change management material to ensure the successful adoption of the IAG capabilities.

3. Implementation and Remediation
This phase included the adaptation and operationalisation of the solution. We did this by providing onsite SME support to assist in running processes, operating procedures and on the job knowledge transfer. Helping the organisation realise the benefits of the solution through close-out and handover was also part of our implementation.
